Green Economy series Part 2 Debuts on RVTV Monday Night

Great local information on businesses and organizations that are leading the way in sustainable and green business practices is available on the RVTV Channels this spring, as episode two of The Green Economy: Sustainable Valley makes it’s debut Monday, February 25 at 4:30pm on RVTV Channel 14 Jackson County. One of the new features focuses on the home of the Digital Media Center where RVTV is housed, Southern Oregon University.

The Green Economy is co-hosted by Andrew Mallory of IdeaStream Media and local Real Estate Broker Don McCoy of Medford. McCoy’s expertise in Green trends in the housing industry has connected him to leading individuals and businesses in Southern Oregon who are leaders in sustainability efforts and practices. Part 2 this spring features Mycorrhizal Applications, Inc. of Ashland, The Biomass One woodwaste to energy plant in White City, and the regional center for higher education, Southern Oregon University.

The Sustainability Council at SOU coordinates everything from the new Recycling Center to green building practices and sustainability curriculum in business and science courses, helping the University keep a sharp focus on a goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. Governor John Kitzhaber is also featured along with the two local businesses noted above. Part 2 plays on RVTV Channel 14 Jackson on Monday at 4:30 and Thursday at 9pm, on Channel 9 Tuesday at 4pm and Wednesday at 11:30pm, and on Grants Pass Channel 21 Wednesday at 5pm, Thursday at 11pm, and Friday at 10:30pm. Ashland Parks
One live event on the channels tonight takes place at 7pm on Channel 9 as the Ashland Parks Commission convenes for a regular monthly meeting. The Annual Pest Management update is scheduled in the New Business agenda section, along with a CIP Discussion and Goals Discussion. The meeting will stream live at https://rvtv.wpengine.com and is also archived for viewing anytime at the City of Ashland website, http://www.ashland.or.us/.

Other Monday programming highlights are a 3 hour community forum from Grants Pass that focused on homeless and transient issues that many of our local communities face. It can be seen in Jackson County on Channel 14 at 5pm today and in Josephine County on GP Channel 21 at 6pm.
