The Green Economy is co-hosted by Andrew Mallory of IdeaStream Media and local Real Estate Broker Don McCoy of Medford. McCoy’s expertise in Green trends in the housing industry has connected him to leading individuals and businesses in Southern Oregon who are leaders in sustainability efforts and practices. Part 2 this spring features Mycorrhizal Applications, Inc. of Ashland, The Biomass One woodwaste to energy plant in White City, and the regional center for higher education, Southern Oregon University.
The Sustainability Council at SOU coordinates everything from the new Recycling Center to green building practices and sustainability curriculum in business and science courses, helping the University keep a sharp focus on a goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050. Governor John Kitzhaber is also featured along with the two local businesses noted above. Part 2 plays on RVTV Channel 14 Jackson on Monday at 4:30 and Thursday at 9pm, on Channel 9 Tuesday at 4pm and Wednesday at 11:30pm, and on Grants Pass Channel 21 Wednesday at 5pm, Thursday at 11pm, and Friday at 10:30pm.
