REAL TV, REAL PEOPLE: Watch RVTV's Government & Public Access archives for authentic local television from Southern Oregon
New lightning strikes are forecast for the rest of the week for Southern Oregon, and firefighters are hoping they come with some drenching rains. If not, the current series of fires burning in wildlands could multiply quickly. Smoke is streaming into Grants Pass and Medford again, and a Red Flag warning for thunderstorms is in effect through Friday night for area residents.
Most of the activity is currently located between Grants Pass and Roseburg, and City officials in Grants Pass have added some new contact information to the end of a short video running on the RVTV channels now. Information from the State Department of Forestry on fire restrictions is available, as well as evacuation, road closures and current information for Josephine County residents. There is also a website listed for information on the progress of fighting the fires. Need that info right now? Access the video here.
