The good folks from the Medford Police Department are catching up on episodes of their monthly program “MPD: Your Police, Our Community.” Chief Tim George was back in studio last night and will return in 2 weeks to make up for a missed program in July.
The August 21st show featured an udpated on key cases the Department is working on and crime statistics for the first half of 2013. Counterfit money cases saw the biggest rise, up 75% over one year ago. Also on hand for the August show were a couple of key players from the MADGE unit, Deputy Cheif Tim Doney and MADGE boss Lt. Brett Johnson. MADGE is an inter-agency team fighting drug dealers and the sales and use of narcotics in Southern Oregon.
MPD: Your Police is always looking for help from citizens to help solve cases, the recent murder of a Medford cab driver and the rash of West Medford arson fires are among the files the department is anxious for new information on.
