REAL TV, REAL PEOPLE: Watch RVTV's Government & Public Access archives for authentic local television from Southern Oregon
As many of you know, citizen producers from all over the Rogue Valley combine their efforts and talents to produce programming for Public Access Channel 15, which is seen throughout Jackson and Josephine Counties. One of the great benefits of having this small army of producers out there is that they often engage area non-profits and community service organizations that could use some publicity and outreach. Such was the case with the latest Studio Certification class, which finished up a six week run in early June.
As a final class project, the students invited Executive Director Denise James and the folks from Rogue Valley Habitat for Humanity in for a half hour program profiling how and why Habitat assists local residents in building affordable housing. It’s a great community partnership, and a program that has value on any of the channels we could play it on. That’s while you’ll see this final class project today at 4pm on Channel 9, and it will also show up in the rotation on GP Channel 21 in Josephine County. It also plays at 3:30pm this Thursday on Channel 9.
Not all of the diverse offerings from our Public Access producers are suitable to cross-over to the other channels but this one was easy. A great local program that provides an incredible impact for local families.
Are you a Jackson or Josephine County resident and are not seeing Channel 15 on Charter Cable or don’t have Charter service? You can always catch the channel streaming live on the RVTV website here. And if you have Charter cable and don’t see our Public Access programming on Ch. 15 contact Joe at RVTV at 541-552-8416. Portions of Eagle Point have channel 9 blocked, and we’ve heard reports of Ch. 15 not coming through in all nodes, including the Expo/Central Pt area. A call to RVTV may help us identify and resolve service issues.
