Proposed rate increases by the Public Works Department for water, wastewater, transportation, and storm drain utility rates will be the second of two Public Hearings on the Ashland City Council agenda tonight. The meeting is televised and streams live at 7pm from the Civic Center on East Main Street, TV coverage on RVTV Channel 9 and streaming live on the RVTV website here. Water and wastewater rates would go up 10% across the board under the proposal, while transportation and strom drain rates would go up 3% The average increase in the typical Ashland household would be about $6.30 a month. Public testimony on the proposal will be welcomed after an initial staff report. The Ashland City Council is the second of two live programs on Channel 9 tonight. At 6pm Pete Belcastro is in to host the Real Estate Show with a panel of experts from the local industry.
