Rogue Valley
For the better part of the last 10 years the Rogue Valley Transportation District Board of Directors meetings have been a regular monthly televised event on RVTV Channel 14 . A few years back the RVTD Staff also had a quarterly studio show that was part of the contract, and in 2013 they return with the first of two annual programs the District plans to incorporate into it’s outreach efforts. Last night, the new studio show, “RVTD: Expanding Your Options” debuted live on Channel 9. It replays today at 10am, 12 and 2pm on Channel 9 and is archived on the RVTV website along with Board meetings here.
There was much ground to cover in the opening episode as the Transportation District staff joined RVTV host Charles Douglas for an informative hour. Transit routes, education and outreach efforts, and applications of new technology are among the topics in this new program. General Manager Julie Brown is joined by Nathan Broom, transportation options planner, and Michael Bowman, travel trainer. The how’s and why’s of public transit are also examined, as well as the many environmental and access benefits.
RVTV is actively searching for new partners such as the Transportation District to take advantage of the newly refurbished studio capabilities at the Digital Media Center and the wide range of distribution options available via cable television and the internet.
