51 acts will be whittled down to 10 between now and October 19th as the 4th annual Southern Oregon’s Got Talent competition is underway, with the first of 3 Quarterfinals shows to debut tonight on RVTV Channel 15 at 7pm in Jackson and Josephine Counties. 17 acts will be judged each week over the next 3 weeks, and the top 20 move on to the semi-final round to be televised on KOBI Channel 5 on September 29th after Sunday Night Football. The top 10 battle it out on the stage of the Craterian Theater October 19th.
This years quarterfinal round featured three top name judges from to score the acts and provide feedback for contestants. From left to right above, Jim Dunbar, Craig Chaquico, and Sandy Ficca lent considerable experience and expertise to the reviews of each performance. Half of the semi-final entrants will be selected by popular vote, the other half by the judges scoring. Cash prizes and scholarships await the finalists who stand out in the end.
SOGT is a fundraiser for the CASA organization of Southern Oregon. Court Appointed Special Advocates help children negotiate the court system and difficult times that have come into their lives by no fault of their own. Over $40,000 was raised by the competition one year ago. Fans can vote via telephone or online with the contestant number throughout the competition.
