REAL TV, REAL PEOPLE: Watch RVTV's Government & Public Access archives for authentic local television from Southern Oregon
A local business is teaming up with the Ashland Emergency Food Bank for a fund raising effort to help families through tough times.
After raising $20,000 each for the Jackson County Library Foundation and two local fire departments in recent years, Blackstone Audio is “doing it again” with a reprise Fundraiser on Saturday, September 7th. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Blackstone will open its warehouse and offer over 50,000 copies of thousands of new CD audio books for just $7, or $5 with the purchase of 3 or more audio books. Some MP3 audio books and cassette audio books will also be available, two for $7. Half of this year’s proceeds will benefit the Ashland Emergency Food Bank.
Downpour.com, a new Blackstone-owned ecommerce web site that sells audio books on CD and as digital downloads, will be featuring many of the same the sale titles on its site and will donate half its proceeds from those titles to the Food Bank. In addition, at the Warehouse Sale purchasers will receive discount coupons for audiobook downloads on Downpour.com.
Tune in Tuesday, August 6 at 6pm to RVTV Channels 9 and 21 Grants Pass for a live studio show that will outline the many titles available to readers and how the fundraising process works. The show will be seen frequently between now and September 7 and will be available online by Wednesday.
