Future of TV News Industry showcased in SOU Raider News

Getting a new class of students together each spring and forming them into a television news and production team is no small task during a 10 week term. The reporting, editing, directing, and presentation skills run the gamut of video production capabilities, and each year the class culminates with a live half-hour newscast. That live show took place Monday night, June 1 and the program showed some pretty good chops on display by SOU Communication students.

The live show was the third and final news show of the term for the class. An udpate on drought conditions in Southern Oregon and story on summer recreation proposals at Mt. Ashland led the program, and Raider News Reporter Alexander Mesadieu had a feature interview with SOU President Dr. Roy Saigo as he approaches the end of his first year on campus. A range of current issues on campus are covered.

SOU Raider News will be seen on RVTV Channels 180 Prime, 182 Voices, and 183GP in Jackson and Josephine Counties throughout the month of June. It replays this afternoon on 180 and 183 at 3:30 p.m. and if you can’t catch it on cable or streaming online watch at your convenience here on the RVTV PEG Player.
