Fire Conditions Video debuts from Grants Pass

FireThe Southern end of the Rogue Valley has seen the dense smoke lift as of Friday morning but wildfires buring in remote locations could have the smoke drifting in and out for months. The Labrador Fire and one other are burning in the Kalimiopsis Wilderness and firefighters have no access to the steep, roadless terrain.

All outdoor power tools are banned right now in dry and grassy areas, and in early August we’re facing weeks of extreme conditions to come. The City of Grants Pass Public Safety Department and RVTV teamed up this week to get the word out on just how quickly fires can start and spread. This piece will run on the RVTV Channels and be posted onto the City website throughout the fire season. To watch the video now click here.

The video has contact information for Grants Pass area residents on fire restrictions and ways neighborhoods and individuals can protect their properties from fire danger.
